(ef 6:13)

Ifølge Thayers greske ordbok betyr onde:

1) full of labours, annoyances, hardships
1a) pressed and harassed by labours
1b) bringing toils, annoyances, perils; of a time full of peril to Christian faith and steadfastness; causing pain and trouble

I dont like that verse because it confirms that there WILL be confrontations and trials. Right now I do not want them or need them. Would'nt it be so much easier if all our issues and problems were also taken away with our sins :) I guess life would be SO boring.

I don't want any more problems either. I often become a bit too stressed when I face big issues. However, when I turn my head and look backwards in time I usually can see how God has fixed everything despite myself. That gives me hope also for the future.

This is Bertie Brits' take on this verse:
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

We can clearly see that there is an “evil day” in which we will have to stand strong in the fact that He is standing strong. We normally confuse “evil day” with words such as “sickness” and “poverty”. The “evil day” is much more subtle, let’s have a look at the word “EVIL”

Here we can clearly see that the word “EVIL” is speaking of a day when we will be pressed and harassed back into labour. The evil day is a day when we will be faced with the screams of Satan to get us back under the WORKS mentality. Jesus came to set us free from LABOUR and is calling us to His rest. Let us stay is His great rest.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
